| Who
We Are |
| The
MIAMI VALLEY FILM ASSOCIATION (MFA) is a non-profit organization
created to support new and upcoming independent filmmakers
and film production focused in the Miami Valley region
(Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, & Eastern Indiana).
Though the focus of the Miami Film Association
is on supporting and promoting film production in the
Midwest, our goals and support are expanded with global
reach through national support, independent releasing
and the creation of international programs including the
Oxford International Film Festival, Indie
Reel, Film Production Support and various
other diverse and unique programs created specifically
with new artists in mind. The Miami Film Association
is based out of Oxford, Ohio (located midway between Dayton
and Cincinnati, Ohio) with offices located on the 1st
floor of the Oxford Arts Center. |

| History |
| The
Miami Valley Film Association is a relatively
new organization, founded in 2007, by Director/Producer
JC Schroder. The origins of MFA stem from the creation
of the Miami University student organization "Miami
Association of Filmmakers and Independent Actors"
(aka M.A.F.I.A. Films) in 2003 which was created to support
Miami University students in producing their own independent
films, and therefore learn by doing. With the creation
and great success of the first-annual Oxford International
Film Festival in 2006, there became the need and
great interest in the creation of an organization to cater
to the entire general public independently on a larger
scale and for that purpose, the Miami Film Association
was formed. |
